The Human Behind the Blog

Hi Everyone!

My name is Mandy and I am a visual artist and paranormal researcher who is fascinated with ufology and human experiences. I’m sure if you are here reading this you want to know a little more about who is working on this project so feel free to message me with any questions you might have and I’ll do my best to answer them.

My life up until this point has been filled with many different pursuits and I am always looking for new ways to create what I want to see in the world through art and creativity. I am currently a professional tattoo artist and painter and in the past I have juggled many different hobbies (juggling was seriously one of them) and even worked a corporate job for 10 years prior to pursuing my full time art career. As an artist and generally empathetic person I felt that tattooing would be a great way to contribute to the world through not only creating beautiful lived in artwork but also helping people create the bodies that they want to be in and portray themselves in a way that suits their own personal narrative.

My history in paranormal research is a rather long story but had beginnings with my mom who had deep beliefs in many metaphysical concepts and introduced me to everything from Jungian psychology to reincarnation. As I’ve grown older I’ve retained a lot of the interests she sparked in me although my path has spread more into a way of documenting experiences and learning more how people think versus her hardened stances of belief. I consider myself an open skeptic in many paranormal concepts, but a hard believer in the individual truths of human experience. I stand by scientific evidence but don’t flat out deny things that haven’t yet been proven/disproved through scientific means. I strive to remain flexible and am always looking to learn more. I hope to create a space filled with respect and acceptance that will eventually be beneficial to working towards more scientific proof and even more so a space that will allow people to share their stories without fear of judgement.

Art in all forms (written, visual, spoken, etc.) is the documentation of the human experience and there is a beauty in that which is so important to me and, I hope, many others. Poetry, mythology, cave drawings, body modifications, etc., create a narrative of humanity and although my contributions will be small and inevitably forgotten in relation to me as a person, I feel it is absolutely imperative as a human to create. I hope that you will understand this and see what I want to provide through my “silly” project and find some connection to others that you may have dismissed otherwise. If this does nothing but lend a few people another outlet to express their own experience then it will be worth it.

I hope that gives a little idea as to who I am and what I’m trying to do. As I’ve said before feel free to reach out to me with questions and I’ll do my best to answer.
